Christine Audet
Artist Statement
Ceramist
for the past 25 years, my career as an artist has led me to
explore different techniques. Part of my work consists of decorated
built pieces with small animals or touches of metal. My second
approach consists of thrown pieces inspired by archaeology,
architecture, diverse religions and my travels.
My work is expressed through decorative items; vases, lamps,
boxes and fountains. The pieces are fired using an ancient technique,
raku. This procedure allows me to achieve glazed effects, rich
in variation. My work can be found in Ontario, the United States,
and in my gallery-workshop in Magog, Quebec.
