Shu-Chen Cheng

Shu-Chen is a full time ceramic artist. Originally from Taiwan and primarily self-taught, she lives and works from her home and studio in Hamilton,
Ontario, Canada. Her award winning Raku vessels have been collected
by collecters in Canada and abroad.

"To find one's true talent is one of the most import and difficult things in life.
Working with clay comes very natural to me. It is my intention to pursue
excellence through my art
."

Description of Work:

I am a full-time ceramic artist. I create and design my contemporary Raku vessels wheel-thrown then the form altered. I also hand-build from slab to create shapes.
I built my own Raku kiln and fire all my own work.

Primarily self-taught; studied at Mohawk College Ceramic Courses and
attending numerous workshops.
