Richard Sturgeon

View Biography | View Artwork

Influenced by the structural contrasts between the natural and urban worlds, Richard Sturgeon creates interpretive sculpture and functional works in metal.
A life shared between the dramatic landscapes of Northern Ontario’s Algoma country and the developed urban and agricultural regions of the province’s southwest allow this London based metal artist a unique perspective of exploration into the relationships between people and their surroundings.
Incorporating elements of motion and spatial relation, sculptural subjects range from northern landscapes to the evolution of human relationships. Richard accents steel and copper work with stone, clay, wood and glass. His work can be found in international private collections, in Fine Art Galleries and commissioned through representative galleries and his studio, Metal In Fusion.
